Venogram.

 

What is it?

A Venogram is a minimally procedure. This diagnostic test that utilizes a special dye and X-ray images to evaluate your veins, especially in your legs.

Why would you need it?

A Venogram is used to confirm a diagnosis of DVT, but can also be used to see other problems in blood flow or causes of pain and swelling, such as a blood clot or other form of blockage. This test is also used when trying to locate and select a vein for bypass graft surgery.

After the Procedure

You can resume normal daily activities and diet. You should drink plenty of fluids to help the IV contrast dye leave your system.

How long does the test last?

This procedure usually takes between approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, with recovery typically taking about 2 hours.
